Frequently asked questions

Everything parents, grandparents and teachers ask us, in one place.

Making pages

Is it free to try?

Yes. You get 1 free page a day without signing up, and 3 more when you enter your email. No card needed. Free pages come as a watermarked preview you can still print and color.

Will the coloring page actually look like my child or my pet?

That is the whole point. We ask for the same face shape, hairstyle, glasses and clothes, or for pets the same ears, muzzle and markings. A clear, well-lit photo where the face is close to the camera gives the best likeness. If a page misses, try a closer photo; failed pages are never charged.

What photos work best?

One clear subject, good daylight, and a face or animal that fills a good part of the frame. Tiny faces far away, very dark or blurry photos, and busy crowds are harder. JPG, PNG and WebP up to 10 MB work, at least 400 pixels on the short side.

Can I choose how detailed the page is?

Yes. Easy (ages 2–5) uses thick lines and big spaces, Classic (ages 6–10) has medium lines and moderate detail, and Detailed (teens and adults) has fine lines with rich detail in hair, fur and background.

Can I add my child's name?

Yes, for free. Type a name or a short message (up to 24 characters) and we draw it in big hollow letters under the picture, so it can be colored in too. We draw the letters ourselves, so the spelling is always right.

Printing

What size does it print?

US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) or A4. We pick based on where you are and you can switch before downloading. Every page has a 0.5 inch margin so home printers do not cut anything off.

Will it use a lot of ink?

No. Pages are pure black outlines on white, with no gray shading and no big solid black areas. If a page ever comes out heavy, we tell you and your redo is free.

Books

Can I make a whole coloring book?

Yes. Add any of your pages to a book (up to 24), give it a title like “Mia’s Coloring Book” and download one PDF with a cover, a “This book belongs to” page, your pages in your order, and a blank “Draw your own!” page at the end.

Do you ship printed books to the UK, Canada and Australia?

Printed books are coming soon. We will only sell them once our print partner ships to the US, UK, Canada and Australia and we have checked a real copy. Until then you can download the book PDF and print it at home or at a local print shop.

Privacy & safety

What happens to my photos? Are they private?

Your photos are only used to make your pages. We never publish them, never show them in a gallery, never sell them and never use them to train our own models. Email support and we delete them.

Is it OK to upload photos of my kids?

Yes, if you are their parent or guardian, or you have permission from one. We ask you to confirm that before your first upload. Pages of children are never published anywhere.

Can I use a photo of a cartoon character or a celebrity?

No. This tool is for your own photos of your own people, pets and places. Copyrighted characters, celebrities and public figures are not allowed (see our Acceptable Use policy).

Can teachers use it for a classroom?

Yes, with permission from a parent or guardian for every student photo. Many teachers make one page per student for a first-day-of-school or end-of-year book.

Payments

Do pages expire? Can I get a refund?

Pages never expire and there is no subscription. If you have not used a pack, email us within 14 days for a full refund. If a page fails, you are not charged for it.
